Our Joomla! extensions are all OpenSource and free of charge. Support is also free of charge. Nevertheless, we do have costs that need to be paid. This is done out of our own pocket. We have had a donation button on our website for some time now, which is actually used to make donations from time to time. The donation progress bar is intended to show how much support we have received and how much is still missing to cover the basic costs, such as hosting and services. The annual costs currently amount to 356€.

Thank you for your support!

Additional questions to start with: cron and sitemap.xml

1 year 10 months ago #427 by herve
Hi again
I have the documentation; given my main use with DPcalendar,

1/ Can you tell me the best practices ?
2/ Is it necessary to use a cron to periodically generate a sitemap
3 / Is there a reason why you don't put the sitemap at the root of the site ?

Regards

1/ There is no best practice currently
2/ Currently the sitemap is generated on every call of the URL. But I have it on my Todo list to make use of the Joomla 4 Cronjob functionality. This is helpfull for big website to save CPU time.
3/ Because currently there is no file generation which is saved somewhere. The sitemap.xml documentaion is a virtual redirect to the long URL.

Version 5.0.0 is released. But not as automated update, because of the XML generation B/C breaking change.

Now there is a sitemap.xml file in the root.

For next version the Joomla Tasks support is planed
